Creating a Basic Menu - Step 35 of 35

We have now a functioning menu. But only on the harddisk. To have the menu running on a CD or DVD you must burn it using a CD/DVD recording program.

When you burn your menu you must place the contents of the creation folder (C:\My Menus\Menu1) in the root folder of your CD/DVD. The root of your CD/DVD must look like this:

The SLCDMENU.EXE file is the menu program and the SLCDMENU.CDI file is a file that contains data (settings, text etc) for the menu. The AUTORUN.INF file is a file that is used by Windows to automatically start programs on a CD/DVD (in this case our menu). The SLCDMENU.EXE.manifest file is a manifest file that contain some special settings that is read by the operating system.

The cdmcdata folder contains the logotype we choosed and the menu picture that was included with the template. The files folder contains a copy of the files that we have linked to the buttons (for example notepad.exe). You can read more about the files folder on this page.

This was the last step

Now you have completed this step-by-step guide. The menu you burned on your CD and DVD can be opened in all computers that run a Windows operating system. Just insert the CD/DVD in the drive and the menu will be opened automatically.
