pilTips & Tricks for CD-Menu Creator

Tip: How to create multiple menus on a CD or DVD

Sometimes one menu window is not enough. The tip below shows you how to create a menu system that contains one main menu and two sub menus.

First we will show you how to create two sub menus. Do the following:

  1. Create a folder with two subfolders on the hard drive
  2. Open CD-Menu Creator
  3. Uncheck the checkbox Support for Windows AutoRun (create AUTORUN.INF)
  4. Click on the Buttons (text) tab
  5. Add a button by clicking the Add Button button
  6. Write a button description, for example, "Return to Main Menu"
  7. Choose the Return To Previous Menu command. Click then OK.

  8. Save the menu with the filename SubMenu1.cdp
  9. Create the menu in the folder C:\CDMainMenu\SubMenu1
  10. Choose the menu item File - New project
  11. Repeat steps 3-9 for SubMenu2

We have now created two sub menus. Next step is to create the main menu, which is the first menu visible when the
CD/DVD is inserted in the drive.

  1. Create a new menu project
  2. Click on the Buttons (text) tab
  3. Click the Add Button button
  4. Write a button description, for example, "Open Menu 1"
  5. Choose the Open New Menu command
  6. Enter the text "C:\CDMainMenu\SubMenu1\SLCDMENU.CDI" in the Filename (CD) text box.

  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the button that will open SubMenu2
  8. Save the menu with the filename CDMainMenu.cdp
  9. Create the menu in the folder C:\CDMainMenu

A more detailed description can be found in the Help documentation for CD-Menu Creator (open Help - Contents - CD/DVD with more than one menu).
